Highlights on the Heuvelrug

Numerous events are held on the Heuvelrug all year round. We have listed various highlights. Since May 2017, the giant pandas can be seen in the Ouwehands Dierenpark Rhenen zoo, and from May through September various performances are held in the Slottuintheater at Slot Zeist. From November through March, we celebrate Winter on the Heuvelrug. But that is not all! Below are various special events that will take place in this magnificent region. 

Sample itineraries - Military heritage

Utrecht has been a strategic location in numerous battles for manu centuries. The forts on the east side of the city are silent witnesses of those bygone years. But just a little further down the road are the Grebbeberg and the Pyramid of Austerlitz. From the time of the French occupation to the Second World War. History is written in the Province of Utrecht. 

9 - 10 a.m.: By coach to the National Military Museum 
10 a.m. - 12.30 p.m.: The past, the present and the future of Dutch armed forces at the National Military Museum
12 noon - 1:45 p.m.: By coach to the Grebbeberg. Lunch in between.
2 - 4 p.m.: Visiting the historic battleground of the Grebbeberg. A guided tour around parts of the Grebbe Line.
4 - 4:45 p.m. By coach back to Utrecht
